Judassime is the brainchild of artist Benjamin Voortman. The non-binary designer did not complete any fashion school before founding Judasssime, making the brand's jaw-dropping designs all the more impressive. Judassime contrasts bold gothic imagery with a romantic edge creating the brand's vintage yet dystopian feel.
Judassime’s “The Wrong Deal” collection is something out of a horror film if it was set in the Victorian era. Each model dons bold eye makeup, striking masks, and black lipstick. “Precious”- Look 12 is an off-white slim-fitting dress with a feathered train and intricate details. The model dons lace gloves and a Marilyn Monroe-esque bleached blonde wig.
But what could be more precious than Look 13, “Flower of Desire”? The two-piece transformable ensemble consists of a black lace detailed maxi skirt paired with a black grommet encrusted bralette and elbow-length gloves. The headpiece is a leather mask with white lace detailing, 5-foot leather straps come out the top of the headpiece, bent into all sorts of whimsical shapes, braids, bunny-ear shapes, and a cage atop the models head. The whole collection was captured on film by a young Parisian photographer, @flavien_sgl on Instagram.
In 2021, Voortman launched “If We Were Made of Meat”- comprised of striking shoulder details contrasted with snatched waistlines and towering platform shoes, all adorned with feathers, fur, and leather. “Abuse”- Look 18 is a cut-off crocodile skin vest paired with lace gloves and a twisted black midi skirt. Underneath the structured vest is a black leather corset and striking choker adorned with silver jewelry.
From Metal Magazine to a nomination in the Belgian Fashion Awards, the young Antwerp designer produces work that's hard to forget. You can even buy select pieces like the “Mini “PRECIOUS” Choker” on the Judaisme website.
