“I see my portraits as a celebration of people in all their wonderful diversity and uniqueness. I like to work with simple lines that nevertheless convey fully the expressions and mannerisms of each person. I generally combine line drawings in pencil and ink with watercolor layers to add light and depth.

Because of my background in architecture, I approach my work from design and composition. Because of my love of literature and philosophy, stories and ideas are a constant source of inspiration and many of my pieces have an illustrative character.

I’m interested in art as a practice, something that happens in a moment in time, rather than a final product. However, I believe that the final products of art can also bring back to the audience the moments of joy and discovery of the process. I believe in art as a means to reach joy.”
