It is a largely undisputed fact that Lady Gaga is a style icon for the millennial generation, her bold fashion choices and unapologetic attitude have made her a symbol for the rebellious youth and the ‘outcast’. If there’s anything that Lady Gaga has taught me personally about fashion, it’s to go for it, to take risks and defy what is perceived as the norm.

Lady Gaga has worn everything (Who can forget the meat dress from the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards?), anything, and even at times nothing at all. When I think of the Lady Gaga aesthetic what immediately comes to mind are oversized shades, fishnets, body-con dresses, stilettos, leather, and large metallic accessories. These items are readily available for the skinny girl, while the choices for the fat girl are limited, often to just the two sad choices beige or leopard print. After scouring the net, I’ve found 18 Lady Gaga worthy items for the fat girl with an edge.

This skirt found at Nakimuli is definitely not lacking in volume, or color. Made out of neoprene (giving the garment bounce and movement) and cut in a royal purple this skirt will add a Lady Gaga amount of drama to any fat girl’s closet.

estroy the idea that crop tops are only for certain body types, any size woman can look great in a crop, just look at the picture above for reference. This crop top found at Chubby Cartwheels is loud, bold, and fashion forward. It even comes in floral and french fry print.

These high-waisted jeggings found at F3 (Full Figured Fashionista) are given an edge by faux leather detailing along the sides. As shown in the picture, these leggings are perfect with a pair of pumps.

How could we say no to fringe, and silver metallic fringe at that? This crop top from Torrid is perfect for a night out. Amp up the look with black leather leggings and gunmetal glitter on the eyes. 

Wearing this sequin maxi from Torrid will add both sparkle and drama to your walk. To wear in true Lady Gaga fashion, and enhance your sparkle, add a pair of glittering drop earrings and a multitude of silver rings.

One thing Lady Gaga is not afraid of is color, and these bright nylon footless tights from We Love Color will definitely bring the color factor to your wardrobe. They are not only available in blue but in a myriad of different shades and hues. Do yourself, and your closet a favor, by checking these tights out.

This slick mesh-sleeved bodysuit from ASOS just reads sex appeal. What I love about this bodysuit is the deep v neckline, which shows just the right amount of skin. Does this bodysuit fit the Lady Gaga aesthetic? We’re inclined to think so.

This wrap set from Proud Mary is a closet staple in black, and gives a little bit of the Lady Gaga sex appeal to the wearer. Complete the look with a bold lipstick choice, sky-high heels, and your choice of statement neckpiece.

We love the sheer sleeves on this ASOS dress, as well as the metallic beading on the bodice. How about you trade in your normal boring black sheath dress, for something like this?

What is more Gaga than an avant-garde mask? This piece by Posh Fairytale Couture is one of a kind, and fit for a queen. It has so many textures, and elements, that it makes our head spin. Every day I live without this mask is a struggle.

Lady Gaga is known for wearing oversized shades in a variety of colors. I couldn’t help but think she’d rock these Malibu Barbie shades from Wildfox Couture.  With a rose frame and light pink lenses, these shades will make you stand out from the crowd.

This statement necklace from Honey B Gold brings both the gold factor, and the glam. Wear this on a night out, and you’ll be sure to attract attention.

When going Lady Gaga from head to toe, you can’t forget about the nail polish. Limecrime has come out with a collection of polishes based off of confectionary delights. Examples of polishes include: once in a blue mousse, lavendairy, and pastelchio which is pictured above. My personal favorite is parfait day, which is described as a “pastel pink reminiscent of a strawberry milkshake”. 

Lady Gaga has been seen sporting lip colors from bubblegum pink to vampish nightmare red. On my search for lipsticks I ran into this relatively new cosmetics brand called Medusa’s Makeup. I was intrigued by the name, but stayed for the quality vegan cosmetics. Just check out their range of lipsticks, I would go straight for undead. 

My last item on this list is not for the faint of heart, or for fans of natural hair color. I for one am partial to mermaid hair, pastels, and pops of color. Manic Panic is a producer of hair dyes that have a cult following, and for a reason. Their semi-permanent hair colors are easy to use, and come in a variety of different shades ranging from green envy to electric lava. Why not switch it up, hit your hair with colors like blue moon and cotton candy? Tempted? You should be.
