Jordan Dalah, a recent graduate of Central Saint Martins, has found a voice that balances subtlety with extravagance. For his Spring 2021 collection, Dalah presented the clothing at home, imbuing the garments with a sense of comfort and relaxation that has ironically averted the homes of everyone forced to stay indoors. The 18-look collection featured dresses with spacious proportions, enveloping the model with billowing hoop skirts and ballooned sleeves that doubly serve as pillows. Dalah balanced these extreme shapes with muted colors and soft fabrics so that nothing was overwhelming. A considerate gesture with instability lurking just beyond the walls. The past year may have been wildly disorienting, but Dalah’s delicate surrealism finds equilibrium in the disarray.
