Papier-mache Plant Pot Magnets

Putting your hands in soil, watching something grow, being surrounded by greenery, all of these things have fantastic effects on your mental health. Planting can foster mindfulness, distract you from negative emotions and daily stress, allow you to focus on nature and yourself.

These papier-mache plant plots will make your fridge look like a little personal garden, and make you happy every time you walk into your kitchen.

You will need:

-       Paper

-       Scissors  

-       PVA glue

-       A glass of water

-       Ice tray/silicone cupcake mold

-       Paint

-       Brushes

-       Magnets

-       Soil

-       Succulents / any other plant

Step 1

Cut your sheets of paper into smaller pieces (a little longer than the length of your mold)

Step 2

Pour about two tablespoons of PVA glue into your glass of water.

Step 3

Soak your pieces of paper in the PVA glue and water mixture.

Step 4

Line your mold of choice with your soaked pieces of paper so the mold is no longer visible. Line it with 2-3 layers of paper. Let it dry completely. This might take up to an hour.

Step 5

When your plant pot is dry, it is time to use your creativity and paint it however you like. I was in a romantic mood, so pink and hearts for me.

Step 6.

When the paint is dry, stick your magnet onto the back of your pot.

Step 7 

Fill the pot with soil and a succulent (will actually live in the pot happily) or any plant of your choice (will require water and space).

Stick it onto your fridge door and you’re done! Now, you can enjoy looking at plants every day, and have a fun and decorated fridge door. Go and help your nervous system and mind calm down by making this easy craft!
