The Art of Blue Edamame
Artist Statement:
Hello, I’m Blue Edamame, and I paint round and disproportionate people!
As artists we have the power and the duty to send a positive message and improve the place we live in.
My illustrations are a way to represent and give recognition to smaller categories and minorities that you don’t see in your everyday magazines or media.
I like to take away from the seriousness of the topic using bizarre shapes, unnatural colors and placing my characters in fun and often sexually charged situations.
‘Love your body’ sounds like an overused cliché, but it’s something everyone struggles with, me included.
I see art as a form of personal therapy, and it’s free for everyone!
