Statement from the artist:

“Most of my work depicts female figures existing in natural spaces, often the settings are visual recognitions of my Haitian background. As a mixed race woman of color who was born and raised in Indiana, I use my artwork to explore connections to my Haitian ancestry and culture that have been lost over the generations. My work also celebrates larger body types, emphasizes feminine strength and encourages confidence through reflection. Through art, I am attempting to reach beyond dominant culture to include and celebrate the historically marginalized, creating images that celebrate multiplicity and evoke pride in diverse identities.”
