The Art of Tania Taraniuk-Caputo

Northern Ontario artist, Tania Taraniuk-Caputo, uses ink to convey her love of the rugged shorelines, woods and wildlife of the region.

The ink is wild and vibrant, “I love these qualities and the process of building endless little rivers and wells of colour walled in by the ink itself. However, allowing the ink to flow in its own serendipitous way is the real pleasure of using ink - the trick is in balancing the two.”

Her Gouache paintings are whimsical fun in delicate detail. “I need to break out the gouache now and then to practice the high detail - I’m always thrilled when it turns out”
