Artist's statement: I create pen and ink drawings depicting the spectrum of body shapes. My body positive goddess collection aims to portray the beauty of the entire diverse range of female body shapes, while celebrating the bond between feminism and the natural world. The goddesses are unabashed and bold, unapologetically taking up space. Flowers and thriving plants grow in the bodily gardens, fed by sunlight, self love, and radical acceptance.
I am inspired by the passion for body positive advocacy I have found in my work as a therapist in the field of eating disorders. Through my artwork, I aim to challenge distorted beauty standards, empower and normalize marginalized bodies, and celebrate feminism. I hope to create a space where all bodies may exist without pressure to conform and shrink and where nourishment and nurturance is celebrated.
