The Art of Lee White by Juliet Poucher
Lee White is a Portland based illustrator whose main artistic focus is on utilizing water colors to produce illustrations for children’s content and commercial work, while also doing personal pieces for various galleries. Much of his commercial work has been established in multiple different areas of North America such as New York, California, Connecticut, Portland, Tennessee, etc. The two most well known books he’s illustrated for are, Kate Who Tamed the Wind and Love, Santa. Many of his own work is based off the life of a child and occurrences within the imagination. Not only has he had success in his own work, but now after completing 12 years as a full time illustration professor at the Art Institute of Portland, he now teaches online to people all over the world. He educates young people on the ability to create quality visual story telling, and converting concepts into good, eye catching illustrations. He posts demonstrations of his artistic processes on his website, while explaining them step by step.
