Thomas Harvey is the masterful mind behind MMRMS Studio, the brand is based out of east London but often pays homage to the designer's Caribbean heritage. Harvey graduated from the London College of Fashion in 2018, in 2019 Harvey went on to found MMRMS studio and in only four years the brand took off, capturing the attention of LilNasX and Dazed Magazine alike.
Alongside Harvey’s Caribbean roots the brand also cites both its inspiration and audience back to the Londons queer clubbing culture. MMRMS ‘s slashing cutouts, flashy colors, and risque silhouettes have ensnared the attention of a youthful crowd.
There is a futuristic-retro mood captured in MMRMS editorial for Dazed. Photographed by Zach Apo Tsang, shot in a dark underground set complete with strobe lights mimicking an empty club. The intensely 80s shoulders, and bright pinks and blues add a sort of vintage feel in contrast to MMRMS's signature garish cutouts. Highlights from the collection include a pair of hot pink bum-bearing chaps with a double belt loop and a crisp black deconstructed leather coat dress.
Drop 001 from MMRMS studio “encapsulates the essence of lust and the experience of love through it”. Drop 001 is comprised of three monochromatic head-to-toe leather looks, Harvey gives the formidable outside appearance a deeper meaning about love. Particularly, MMRMS’s pink head-to-toe leather suit is a showcase of Harvey's talent, the crisp hot pink button-up is coupled with aninspired mask and choker.
