Light of my Life by Jennifer Ryan Kelly

Winter is fast approaching. It has already gotten darker outside and before we even wake up it feels like its time to fall asleep again. To purge these dark times, it’s nice to be reminded of the lighter side of life, we’ll do this by making a cute candle holder to shine patterned light in the darkness.

What you will need: jar, paper, scissors, craft blade, pencil and twine.

Step 1:
Obtain two jars, I used jars for food. I washed them out thoroughly before use.

Step 2:

Remove any label that is on the jars and wash off any excess label. It’s okay if you can’t get all of it off!

Step 3:
Using paper, wrap it around your jar and mark where the top of the jar is.

Step 4:
Remove the jar and firmly press on your paper.

Step 5:

Once flattened, cut where you have marked the page horizontally.

Step 6:

Draw different patterns on your page- get creative!

Step 7:

Cut the patterns you have drawn out with a craft knife.

Step 8:
Carefully wrap it around your jar. Once you have straightened and wrapped it around tightly, tape the corners together.

Step 9:

Using twine, tie the paper around the top of the jar.

Step 10:

Cut off excess twine.

Step 11:

Put a little candle in your jar, light it and you’re done!
