Clay Polaroid Stands
Craft by by Elina Khindova
What happens if you combine a relaxing activity with a confidence booster? Polaroid stands made out of clay.
Making something out of clay gives us tactile gratification, self expression and is also scientifically proven to release aggression and negative thoughts. Putting photos of your friends around you creates a positive space and reminds you of happy moments , being surrounded with photos of yourself will boost your self confidence and empower you.
You will need:
- Air dry clay
- A spatula for clay
- Acrylic paint
- Acrylic glaze
- Paint brushes
- Your favourite polaroids
- A pencil
Step 1
Take a desired amount of air dry clay (depending on what size you want the stand to be.) Roll it into a ball.
Step 2
Manipulate the ball however you like, and don't forget to flatten out the bottom part of the stand. While the clay is still dry, use your polaroid to cut a space for it. Insert it right into your stand.
Step 3
Make sure to widen the space a little further, because when the clay dries, it expands, so there is a good chance your polaroid won't fit into the stand when it's dry. Use a pencil or scissors to widen the space.
Step 4
When the stands are completely dry (might take a few hours), paint your stands, have fun!
Step 5
Once the paint is dry, cover the stands with an acrylic gloss.
And here you have your self-made polaroid stands, which will always remind you of beautiful memories and act as great decor for your environment.
