Jiayue’s work exists purely as an embodiment of her technical abilities and creative propensity, its within the absence of forthright references and distractions in her work that allows its viewers to absorb her work from a different perspective. Instead Jiayue’s work with “Chaotic Silence” leaves the viewer not knowing the inspiration but questioning it.
Take Look 10 for example, in which the viewers are uncontrollably pulled towards the model's sides, by layering an asymmetric frock over a skin-tight gray dress, Jiyaou creates a high contrast effect emphasizing the model's shape. Creating a sort of void between the under and outer garments to draw attention to the empty spaces.
Jiayue is an Antwerp fashion graduate and sports features from magazines like Knack Weekend, Mob Journal, and Le Mile.
While it's the ambiguity in “Chaotic Silence” that draws viewers in, her collection “Era Reset” is quite different, immediately your brain starts spinning, exotic shapes clouded by psychedelic colors.
Nature meets its industrialist match within Look 5. A loose ombre blue jumper frames the model, paired with matching trousers and a pink corset equipped with heavy-duty zippers as well as undergarments fastened by drawstrings.
Look 4 is a mind-bending assortment of colors and shapes, purple leather paired with fur and abstract fluorescent yellow tights. Don't let this overshadow the shoes, lime green pumps with an invisible heel. With the eclectics of your grandmother's closet, “Era Reset” is littered with references to pick at, showing the truly versatile range of Jill Jiayue She.
